ABOUT JUNIOR BEACH 

Our Junior Beach Volleyball pathway currently supports two age group programmes U18 and U21.Athletes in these programmes work through a structured cycle of training, development, and international competition, with the ultimate goal of qualifying for and competing at their respective World Championships.

These age groups are also an extension but not exclusive of our pathway for athletes aspiring to progress into the New Zealand A squad and our High Performance programme. This ensures that while the World Championships remain a key milestone, athletes are also developing the skills, experience, and mindset needed to transition into senior national team environments.

NZ U18 Beach Volleyball Trials

Volleyball New Zealand invites all eligible athletes to trial for the NZ Under 18 Beach Volleyball teams, part of the selection pathway towards the 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Dakar, Senegal (31 October – 14 November 2026).

Athlete Eligibility: For YOG, athletes will need to be born on or after 15 November 2008 to be eligible. For Asian/World Champs, athletes will need to be born or after 1 January 2009 to be eligible.
