NORTH ISLAND JUNIOR BEACH CHAMPS

VNZ North Island Juniors – Beach Volleyball Information


📍 Roll Call: 7:30am🏐 First Game: 8:00am⏱️ Finish: Approximately 5:30pm


🔄 Format:

We are playing timed rounds in pool play ​​​​​​​and the following:


Year 10 Boys & Year 10 Girls

  • 2 rounds, similar to indoor champs. Round 1 you start in 6 pools A-F. The top 2 from those pools will move into a Pools U & V, followed by the next 2 into W & X, and the rest into Y & Z. Then the top 6 teams have a playoff after Round 2, everyone else is finished.


Year 9 Girls

  • 4 pools A-D. Winners of those pools play off for 1-4. 2nd place teams in pools play for 5-8. 3rd place teams play for 9-12. 4th in Pool D has no more matches.


Year 9 Boys

  • 2 pools A & B. Top 2 teams play off for 1-4. 3rd and 4th play off for 5-7 with a round robin.


🍔 Canteen:• The Canteen will be open for the event with lots of food and drinks.



2025 Beach Event Information

Location - Harbour Beach Volleyball Centre, 65 Maxwell Drive, Mairangi Bay, Auckland 

​​​​​​​Limited to two teams per division for each school

  • Entries Open: Thursday 25 September 2025

  • Entries Close: Tuesday 28 October 2025 

  • VNZ Individual Student Membership due: If you have an indoor membership, you don't need to buy an additional membership. Tuesday 28 October 2025 . Send this link to players https://www.volleyballnz.org.nz/about-us/vnz-membership

    • Secondary School Membership (Junior and Senior) $21.00 inc GST

  • Team Entry Payment Due: Friday, 31 October 2025 ($60 per team inc gst )

  • Team Rosters Due in Teambuilder: Monday, 3 November 2025


1. Enter Teams in TeamBuilder - see this support article or ask VNZ for the link to your team so you can get players to enter themselves

2.  Register players and other team members (coach/manager etc.) through the Volleyball Player 2025 registration form.    

3.  Assign Players and other team members to their teams in TeamBuilder. 


If a team enters, then withdraws from the Event, the refund policy is: No Refund 2 weeks before the tournament.


Tournament Structure

Age Groups: Year 9 and Year 10, Boys & Girls

Set Score Ruling Pool Play Sets - 15, 15, 12 Playoffs - 21, 21, 15 

Each team will get at least 1 playoff match. We’ll be playing roll-on, roll-off so make sure you are keeping up with the speed of your pool.
