FUTURES BEACH PRO TOUR NEW ZEALAND

Futures: Mount Maunganui is New Zealand’s flagship international beach volleyball event, part of the FIVB Beach Pro Tour. First introduced in 2024, it marked New Zealand’s debut on the global beach volleyball circuit and has quickly established itself as a highlight of the summer sporting calendar.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Mount Maunganui, the event attracts athletes from around the world while giving Kiwi players the chance to earn valuable international ranking points on home sand. Combining world-class competition with community engagement and festival atmosphere, Futures: Mount Maunganui plays a vital role in athlete development and growing the sport nationally.

Key Dates & Deadlines

  • Powhiri: Wednesday, 4th February @ 4:00pm 
  • Sign-in: Wednesday, 4th February @ 4:30 pm; all players must be present and signed off by the FIVB Delegate.
  • Competition: Thursday, 5th February - Sunday, 8th February
  • Prize Giving: Sunday 8th February @ 4:00pm
  • ​​​​​​​Wrap Party: Sunday 8th February @ 6.30 pm - The Mount Tavern, 305 Maunganui Rd, Mt Maunganui. Tickets go on sale on Thursday 5th February at the Administration tent at the event. Payment can be made by credit card or cash.


The Pōwiri will be a time for remembrance, healing and solidarity. We will remember those who have passed, including those who were lost in the Mauao landslide. Manuhiri (athletes / officials / visitors/ guests) will assemble on the platform at the corner of Marine Parade and Commons Avenue, Mount Maunganui.

Saturday 7th February (Quarters) - 8:00am-7:00pm

Tauranga Moana Waitangi Day Dawn Service, Friday 6 February 2026

The Tauranga Moana Waitangi Day Dawn service has been observed for more than 50 years and with the Mauoa landslide having recently taken place, careful consideration has concluded that the dawn service is set to continue this year.

This special occasion brings iwi/hapū, civic and church leaders, and the wider community together in the spirit of whakawhanaungatanga (relationships and collaboration) and manaakitanga (care and respect), to reflect on the past, and to look forward with a renewed commitment to partnership and kotahitanga (unity).

Training Court availability

Thank you for your patience while we are currently constructing the Tournament Courts.

We will have Courts 4 and 5 available from 6pm today (Monday 2nd Feb)

Courts 1, 4 and 5 will be available from 8am - 8pm Tuesday 3rd Feb

Court 3 will be available after 10am Tuesday 3rd Feb

Court 2 will be available after 12pm Tuesday 3rd Feb

All courts will be available between 8am and 8pm Wednesday 4th Feb.
