Pioneer Sand Courts & Cathedral Square
The G.J. Gardner Homes NZ Beach Tour continues its journey to the garden city of Christchurch for the fourth stop in the 2022 series. The Canterbury 5-Star tournament is a split venue event with the Challenger's bracket beginning competition at Pioneer Sand Courts and the Champions pool beginning competition at the same time on Friday morning on the showcourt situated in the heart of the city, Cathedral Square.
Saturday sees Dirty Dog A Grade competition continue at Pioneer with quarter finals (top 8) at Cathedral Square. Sunday sees the top 4 men and top 4 women only playing semis and medal matches at Cathedral Square. The draw will be limited to a maximum of 50 teams.
SEEDING FORMAT
The seeding format for the G.J. Gardner Homes NZ Beach Tour is determined by a weighted performance model. As the G.J. Gardner Homes NZ Beach Tour progresses from event to event, the weight of a player's past performance will become lessened in determining their seeding within a tournament. A maximum of one international performance may be used in as a result within the current seasonal window per event.
Past Performance
Past performance refers to 1- to 5-Star tournaments in the seasonal window of 1st April 2020 to 31st March 2021.
Two (2) results from the previous season will account towards a players seeding for this tournament.
