Youth connect in Christchurch

The next generation of volleyball leaders met in Christchurch on Friday as the VNZ Youth Advisory Group gathered for their first in-person meeting.

The National Youth Advisory Group has been created to better understand and engage young people into volleyball with Friday’s agenda including discussion on; the barriers young people face to participation, how to create safe fun and inclusive spaces, identifying opportunities for leadership development and ideas around focussed projects for the group.

Otago’s Loveday Mossman-Catchpole said: “it was awesome to connect with everyone in person and establish our values and goals.

“We have a passionate group of youth and I am excited for what the future brings."

VNZ National Partnership Manager Katie Horne said: “we’re so excited to bring this group of passionate young people together to talk all things volleyball from their perspectives.

“It is clear there is so much drive in our sport to create more connections across the country.”
