Vacancy: Volley Ferns Head Coach

Volleyball New Zealand seeks applications for the position of Volley Ferns Head Coach for the next cycle of the programme.

Our senior women’s indoor programme is designed to develop New Zealand Volleyball athletes who can perform to the best of their ability consistently. The Volley Ferns Head Coach will play a significant role in helping to achieve this goal. The purpose of the role is to create an environment that inspires, challenges, and develops their athletes to be better.

The key roles and responsibilities for the role over the two-year team cycle period (both domestically and internationally) are:

         Prepare a two-year plan inclusive of internal and international activities, which meets the stated outcomes of the nationally focused development of the programme (athletes and coaches are being serviced nationally)

         Attend Volleyball New Zealand events to observe athletes in action so you can select, give feedback, and build relationships with your athletes

         Build rapport with your athletes to gain trust and respect

         Improve the overall performance of the athletes in your team

         Prepare and travel with the team to domestic and international commitments

Vacancy: NZ A Beach Coach

Volleyball New Zealand seeks applications for the position of New Zealand A Beach Coach for the next cycle of the respective programme.

Our NZ A programme is designed to develop New Zealand Volleyball athletes who can perform to the best of their ability consistently. Our NZ A Coaches play a significant role in helping to achieve this goal. The purpose of the role is to create an environment that inspires, challenges, and develops their athletes to be better.

The role involves part time squad coaching December 2023 - October 24, involvement in training camps as well as the 2024 G.J. Gardner Homes New Zealand Beach Tour.

Vacancies: National Junior Beach Coaches (Men's and Women's)

Volleyball New Zealand seeks applications for the positions of Men's and Women's National Junior Beach Coaches for the next cycle of the respective programmes.

The roles include full delivery and involvement in the programme of player identification, selection and participation at all relevant events in the age group, including but not limited to: New Zealand domestic camp and development opportunities, Oceania-based events, Asian Championships, World Championships and Youth Commonwealth Games.

Vacancy: WRVA Community Connector

Poirewa Te Whanganui-a-tara’s (Wellington Regional Volleyball Associations, WRVA) vision is to “Build strong, thriving and resilient volleyball communities on and off the court.”

The WRVA Board in partnership with Volleyball New Zealand (VNZ) is seeking to appoint a Community Connector, who will play a critical role in helping WRVA to achieve its purpose.

WRVA provides volleyball opportunities to the wider region of Wellington. The Regional Community Connector role will play a critical part in helping WRVA to achieve its vision.

The successful applicant will work with WRVA, VNZ, clubs, schools and other organizations to amplify, support, and deliver quality volleyball opportunities for local communities.

We require someone who is passionate about the development of sport, good communication and relationships; someone who looks to the future and has a creative approach to growing our capability. You will need to be able to work with a wide variety of people of all ages and ethnicity.

The primary focus of this position:
• Identify opportunities for development of coaches, referees, and volunteers
• Facilitate quality community volleyball activities in a variety of contexts including social informal VolleyFest opportunities
• Implement the key outcomes of the commitment to partnership between VNZ and WRVA
