Last week, our Junior teams were spread across Aotearoa, competing in their respective tournaments. These events, delivered by Volleyball New Zealand in collaboration with regional associations, brought volleyball to communities nationwide. The tournaments showcased outstanding talent, with our future generation demonstrating impressive skills and gameplay.
Auckland - North Islands Junior Champs
In Tāmaki Makaurau teams competed within three divisions. Division 1 Gold Medalists Tauranga Boys College and Carmel College both went undefeated the whole tournament. Tauranga Boys College also going back to back with the junior titles, also clenching the Senior National Champs title earlier this year.
Christchurch - South Island Junior Champs
The South Island Champs, held in Christchurch, delivered an action-packed tournament showcasing volleyball talent across multiple divisions. Nayland College dominated Division 1 Wāhine, going unbeaten throughout the event to claim the title. Meanwhile, Nelson College proved equally unstoppable in Division 1 Tāne, achieving a clean sweep to secure their victory.
Wellington - North Island Satellite
Another successful satellite competition! Some great volleyball displayed! St Bernards taking out the gold medal for the Tāne and Sacred Heart Lions claiming the Wāhine gold medal!
