Getting Involved

Beach Volleyball in New Zealand runs from October through to March each year. There are many opportunities to play throughout the country with leagues and tournaments being offered for a range of ages and abilities, competitive and social. Generally social volleyball is played in fours and run by your local regional association or clubs. To find where to play socially or for competitive beach volleyball and all tournaments click on the links below.

Competitive pairs beach volleyball is first offered to Under 15 athletes, and there are various age group tournaments run by regional associations and clubs.

The brand new NZ Junior Beach Tour is being added this summer as part of the NZ Beach Tour and with 4 stops will be an exciting addition. It kicks off December 2019 in Mt Maunganui and then has stops in Gisborne, Nelson and finishes up in Northland on anniversary weekend. More information on the NZBT page.. 

Also in January are the National Age Group Beach Volleyball Championships (held at Mt Maunganui 21-22 January 2020) and the New Zealand Secondary Schools Beach Volleyball Championships (held at Mt Maunganui 1-2 February 2020).
