Volleyball New Zealand is made up of 14 Regional Associations, within each Association there are Representative teams, Clubs, Schools and Beach Volleyball teams that operate.

Volleyball New Zealand is based in Auckland, with some staff located elsewhere in the country.

As Chief Executive, Toni-Maree’s responsibilities include leading the strategic direction of Volleyball New Zealand, working closely with Sport New Zealand, Volleyball New Zealand Board, Association’s and key partners. The overall successful operation of Volleyball New Zealand is Toni-Maree’s responsibility. This includes, staffing, events, programmes, tours, community development, digital platforms, media and marketing, as well as athlete, coach and referee development.
Steven Upfold

Steven will assist in the further development and growth in the Volleyball game across New Zealand and will partner with a range of organisations assisting in the growing income streams, including government, local councils, sports and private providers. The main focus and priority will be development and innovation including new products, programmes and strategies to meet the organisations goals.
Amanda Isada

Amanda is Volleyball New Zealand’s Business Administration Manager. Amanda oversees all things business and events. These include indoor and beach tournaments, national and international tours, office operations and systems, and funding and finance.
Katie Horne

Katie will be the key interface for capability development with VNZ Associations and other stakeholders. Katie will provide leadership, guidance and support to our community stakeholders. This entails growing capability and a culture of learning and continuous development within the volleyball community. Katie will be a resource to advance Volleyball participation opportunities within regions, volunteer recruitment and retention and all aspects of ensuring Association’s are well set up to move into a successful future for volleyball.
Jason Lochhead

Jason is the High Performance Coaching Director. He coached a US team to Tokyo 2020 and is a former FIVB professional beach volleyball player. Jason’s focus is to coach the High Performance athletes and NZ A Beach athletes leading them to success on the international stage. He will also support NZ performance coaches indoor and beach.
Johann Timmer

Johann is Volleyball New Zealand’s Game Development Manager. Johann works closely with athletes and coaches to help develop the game in New Zealand. He is responsible for the running of various development camps and training opportunities while also spending time in the performance area.

Colleen is Volleyball New Zealand’s Performance Manager, Colleen helps oversee performance programmes, working alongside coaches to ensure quality experiences and pathway opportunities.
Fabi Phaneuf

Fabi is Volleyball New Zealand’s Events and Coaching Manager. She works with current events as well as new ones. She is also the Coach Developer lead organising and building the coaching skills in New Zealand. Beside coaches Fabi also oversees the referees and the development and accreditation. She oversees Northern Zone league, and all the communication with clubs, and athlete’s club transfers.
