Refereeing

Referees are an extremely important ingredient in the development of Volleyball at all levels of the game.

This section of the website will assist referees, coaches, athletes, administrators and anyone interested in the development of the game to gain a better understanding of the referee pathway available to them.

Our referees will be involved in a program which will, as they move through the different levels of officiating, develop key skills to ensure the development of their officiating and the development of the game of volleyball throughout the country.

These skills will include an in-depth understanding of the rules, an improved knowledge around game management, communication, decision making, the psychology of officiating, as well as gaining skills in risk management and conflict resolution.

These are skills that will not only develop our referees, but will also provide excellent life skills for those that take on the challenge of officiating our sport.
