Volleyball is a strong, vibrant, progressive sport at the heart of New Zealand’s identity

Welcome to the official website of Volleyball New Zealand (VNZ), the nationally and internationally recognised governing body for volleyball in New Zealand (competitive and recreational Indoor and Beach volleyball).

 

The National Office of VNZ is based in Wellington.  Regional associations provide local volleyball services nationwide.

 

Volleyball New Zealand’s activities are endorsed and supported by SPARC (Sport and Recreation New Zealand), NZOC (New Zealand Olympic Committee) and is affiliated to the international organisations Oceania Zonal Volleyball Association (OZVA); Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

 

Volleyball acknowledges and is grateful for the funding support form SPARC, IOC Solidarity and Charitable Trusts.

GOVERNANCE

 

Volleyball New Zealand is governed by a Board comprised of four elected and three appointed members.  The Annual General Meeting is held in April/May.

Volleyball New Zealand is supported by 13 affiliated regional associations. Regional Associations have minimal paid staff and are supported by a large volunteer base.  Associations are responsible for the promotion of volleyball and provision of volleyball programmes and activities within their communities.
