Kirk Pitman

Originally from Kamo High School, Northland Kirk moved to Tauranga in 2000 to join the VNZ Beach Volleyball Academy.  Kirk's jumping ability, speed through the sand and passion have elevated him to the New Zealand Number one ranked player since 2002.

Jason Lochhead

Originally from Otumoetai College in Tauranga Jason played the New Zealand Junior team as a setter, libero and hitter; he now patrols the backcourt and is recognised as NZ's best defensive player.

Anna Scarlett & Susan Blundell

Anna Scarlett - Profile

A former Silver Fern (retired to play beach volleyball in 2008) with a Netball World Cup title and Commonwealth Games Gold to her name. She has played for the New Zealand Women’s indoor volleyball team from 2000 -2003 and has been a top ranked NZ Beach player for a number of years since starting in 2000.

She has a bachelor of Physiotherapy from Otago University and is currently studying to specialize in Pediatric Physiotherapy.

These achievements demonstrate her strong characteristics of determination and focus in reaching her goals and Olympics 2012 is the next one.

Her experience at an elite level of sport has provided strong base in mental and physical attributes required for the high level of competition on world beach volleyball tour.

Susan Blundell - Profile

Has played for the New Zealand Women’s Indoor team in 2000 at the Asian Senior Women’s Championships competing against the best teams in the World including China and Japan. She has been a key player in her indoor club teams and been in the national club finals for each of her three years playing indoor.

In 2002 she transferred from indoor to beach volleyball to compete on the FIVB world tour for the next two years. Those two years provided her with invaluable international competition experiences and extended her skills and knowledge of the game immensely. She has been voted New Zealand's top female player every year since transferring to the sand in 2002

She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Victoria
